Pumpkin Risotto and Squash Soup

Saturday, we went to La Magie de la pomme/Centre d’interprétation de la courge in St-Joseph-du lac. We were hoping to be able to go pick up our first pumpkin, but unfortunately it was too early in the year. Next time, we will put back our boots and attack the field to get 10 shiny, small pumpkin for our centerpieces. Meanwhile we were there, we bought a sweet pumpkin and decorative ones and stopped – 5 minutes from there – to a farmer market. There is nothing better than fresh vegetables. I couldn’t resist to all those firm, beautiful, aromatic Quebec vegetables, so I bought a broccoli, a cauliflower, 3lbs onions, a butternut squash and a acorn squash, green onions and turnip. I ate the turnip so far and it was delicious. That night, I had my parents and my brother and his amazing girlfriend for supper. My mom made Ratatouille adding fresh tomatoes and zucchinis from my father-in-law garden.
